This week’s recipes!

Here’s your weekly dose of a great Paleo lunch! This recipe was super easy and tastes so good my fiancé even says he would eat it for dinner…and that’s definitely a win! I paired this with a side of steamed broccoli and substituted the coconut aminos with gluten free soy sauce. This has been a perfect portion for lunch and helps keep me full! I believe it’s safe to say this week we have found another winning recipe!

Go primitive in a processed world…

In a world full of cupcake ATM’s and pizza vending machines, we have to finally decide when enough is enough. “Food” today is no longer real food, instead it’s just over processed food-like products. But how do we tell the difference? You walk in the store and the word ORGANIC is everywhere. What does being truly organic mean and how can we make sure that we are doing right by ourselves and choosing the right products? When following a primitive diet, such as the Paleo Diet, look for things found in nature. I have listed the definition of the two types of foods below.

Organic: chemical compounds that formerly comprised only those existing in or derived from plants or animals, but that now includes all other compounds of carbon.

Processed Food: The definition of what constitutes a processed food can vary slightly, but it usually refers to foods that are packaged in boxes, cans or bags. These foods need to be processed extensively to be edible and are NOT FOUND IN NATURE!

Yes I know, that means you have to put back those family size Doritos and the frozen Hot Pockets. Look at it like this instead of feeling like you’re missing out , get creative with your snacks the healthy way then watch and feel your body change for the better. I wish I would have accepted this concept when I was younger, then it wouldn’t be so hard as an adult. We get so busy and forget to take care of the one thing that keeps us moving…our body! We use and abuse it to no end and then expect it to perform at its highest level. This week I want you to think about your daily routine and see if you can fit some minor changes in there to gear yourself towards a healthy lifestyle. Start small and work your way up to the big changes that way you can say, ” I don’t want that.” Instead of “I can’t have that.”

Don’t limit yourself or your creativity when making a lifestyle change. Alter the diet to fit into your life not the other way around! Eat well and be well!!

*I will be posting this weeks lunch recipe tomorrow so stay tuned!! *

My Plexus Journey: Day 12

Good afternoon my friends!! Today is Day 12 of my Plexus Journey and I am almost down another pound!! On day 10 I weighed in at 163.8! During this time I haven’t been working out (although I hope to include it soon) or doing anything other than Paleo and Plexus and the weight is just coming off! I could not be more excited to see how much i can change before my wedding 😆 Everyday I take my plexus products I feel like I am just one step closer to being the woman that I want to see in the mirror when I wake up. By striving each day to rewire my brain towards more healthy choices, I am learning the importance of discipline and patience.

Lunch this week is once again brought to you by Pinterest! Avocado Chicken Salad with bacon. I doubled the recipe below to make it last me through the week. I have paired it with cucumber “chips” (slices) and raw baby carrots. This twist on a classic recipe is made with avocado instead of mayo and is absolutely delicious! Having a day of food prep has to be one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself, especially when you have the right tools. We are blessed to live in an era where ideas and anything we could ever want to buy is at our fingertips. The Internet is good friend to have when you want healthy and delicious meals to help you stay on track. Pinterest is my ultimate go to! Check out the recipe below or follow me on Pinterst and see my Paleo Diet collection of pins.

Sunday food prep y’all 😍

I hope everyone has an awesome week! Let’s be an inspiration to everyone we come in contact with this week!

One week in!

Hey everyone!

Today is day 7 of my Plexus Journey and I am down almost 2 pounds weighing in at 164.3! Woo woo! This week has been a busy one thank goodness I had Plexus in my corner. Between making checklist for our last minute wedding preparations, house keeping, and working full time I should be dying for a nap or a break…but I’m not! I have been able to keep my normal schedule but be more productive. Lately my workload has increased substantially and I have been able to keep it on track with minimal delays when usually I would be drowning in paperwork! I am motivated, rested, and am feeling so much better over all. I guess you don’t really realize how sluggish you get in your daily ins and outs whenever everything becomes habitual. You’ve felt that way I’m sure, like you’re just going through the motions everyday? Well it’s time to break through your funk.

Now, Let’s talk lunch!  On the menu this week: Paleo Cobb salad (that I have been thoroughly enjoying!). This salad is the perfect balance of veggies while being loaded down with protein found in the hardboiled egg, bacon, and chicken breast. I will definitely be keeping this recipe around for a while. When I did the Paleo diet the first go around, I was hungry all the time and felt as if nothing I ate would stick. So I over compensated with tons of raw veggies and fruit, instead of with more protein. This time I think I have got it figured out! I am still doing without the dairy products and sugar as much as possible, and am on the verge of trying out some almond or coconut milk ice cream! Once I have tested it, I will post the recipe here for y’all to try.

Today I challenge you to make one small change in your daily routine that you feel will boost your momentum during the day . I also challenge you to set aside some time for yourself to regroup your thoughts and concentrate your positive energy inward. Let’s make everyday great 😆

Happy Tuesday 😍

Good Morning everyone! I hope that case of the Monday’s wasn’t too bad for you. Well folks, today is day 5 of my Plexus Journey and I am still feeling great. I feel lighter and am finally more regular! Lately I had trouble sleeping through the night and was starting to get exhausted; but here I am five days in and sleeping ALL the way through the night. When researching Plexus I came across a few testimonies that claimed Plexus helped them create a more consistent sleep schedule and aided in insomnia. I thought maybe that was a little over the top, at first, and now I believe it’s just one of the many benefits of Plexus!

Time to “weigh” in. I finally have a base weight for my weight loss journey…*drumroll please*… 165.3.  Now, I know that doesn’t sound like a lot and yes I have weighed more at previous times in my life. However, when I was over that weight I didn’t go about losing the weight the healthy way. Since my parents started using Plexus I have watched them literally transform infront of my eyes. They would talk about Plexus with such a passion and started doing amazing things that 50 year olds just don’t ever do! My mom took up running and now runs marathons. My dad decided to do it all. He bikes, he runs, he swims, and he can still beat you at a game of one on one basketball! How’s that sound for your 50’s?! Needless to say, it got me interested in seeing what Plexus could do for me in maintains a healthy lifestyle.

On a health note our Pinterest Paleo lunch that we talked about on Sunday is so delicious! I had my first Cobb salad yesterday and I am definitely going to keep that recipe in my back pocket. Please feel free to share your experiences with any of the recipes I share here so we can all learn together. I look forward to finding more recipes to try out this weekend! Y’all have a great week and Happy Tuesday!

The joys of the weekend!

Although weekends should be full of rest and relaxation they tend to end with us running errands, cleaning the house, and whatever else we feel compelled to do during our two short days of not having to be at work! I know that’s not the case for everyone though and sometimes you don’t even know when your next day off will be. I have been there before, so I know I can’t complain about having a weekend! My point? Why don’t we make it a priority to take a little time for ourselves everyday? Even if just for an hour, find something you love to do and pursue it! Let your creativity flow.

For me, it’s food prep on Sunday’s! It’s my happy place. This week’s Paleo lunch was inspired by Pinterest.

I will be substituting organic Honey Mustard for the Buffalo Ranch just for personal taste, but if you make it the way the recipe calls for let me know how it turns out! Following a Paleo diet is easier for me by eating 3 full meals a day and “grazing”throughout the day. However, you never want to feel stuffed. Just full and satisfied. My “grazing” snacks for this week include: pink lady apples, carrots, and cucumbers. My daily food/supplement intake looks like this:

  • Coffee with creamer
  • Plexus Slim and 2 Biocleanse
  • 2 eggs with either bacon or sausage
  • Morning snack: sliced pink lady apple
  • Late morning snack: sliced cucumber
  • Lunch: Paleo Cobb Salad with organic Honey Mustard
  • Afternoon snack: handful of baby carrots raw.
  • Dinner: lean protein and a vegatable (for example: sirloin steak and asparagus)
  • 2 Biocleanse and 2 Probio5
  • Dessert: sliced peach

*remeber to drink plenty of water! You never want to feel thirsty, so drink up! *

Today is day three of my Plexus Journey  and I can feel a difference already! I am not as bloated and my stomach feels flatter! Day two was also fabulous! Thanks to plexus I had enough energy to keep up and hike over a mile at the beautiful Inks Lake State Park. The park is such a good way to have a relaxing time away from life and get unplugged!  I am looking forward seeing what more Plexus has in store for My family! If you want more information about the park please see the link below!

My Plexus Journey: Day 1

My name is Jana and I am a mother to a son named Hayden, a full time worker, and a soon to be wife to my wonderful fiancé Daniel!! I have been an ambassador with Plexus for a few weeks now and am finally on my personal Plexus Journey. My fiancé and I are starting out with the Triplex which includes the Plexus Slim for weight loss and appetite suppressant, Probio5 for probiotics to cleanse the gut, and Bio Cleanse which helps oxygenate the body and provide regularity (if you know what I mean 😆). This combo has been hailed as the “holy trinity” of  jump starting your weight loss journey of the Plexus product line. So with after hearing the hype and watching it transform my own parents’ lives we decided that this was a better time than any to dive in! I wanted to have full disclosure on this site and provide pictures of my own personal results to share with you all. This is me, just this morning at the heaviest I have been in two years!!

Believe it or not those jeans used to be loose on me! When I saw this picture I was so embarrassed that I had just let myself go and ignored my need for healthy choices. Two years ago I was all in Paleo and a yoga fiend. All I did was eat healthy and be on my yoga mat at least 45 minutes a day! I followed all the rules of Paleo and the weight just fell off, but like any diet you get burnt out eventually…and let me tell you I didn’t just fall off the wagon, I fell off the wagon and rolled down a cliff!

The moment I allowed sugar and carbs back into my diet I instantly became addicted all over again! I had bread, soda and a sugary dessert with every meal, which has lead me to today. I will be getting married in a month and am fearful of not being able to fit in my dress that fit just a few months ago. That’s where Plexus has come to the rescue!! By helping curve my cravings for sugar it will help me not only stay on my diet, but crave the healthy things I need the most. I look forward to keeping you updated and hearing your experiences with Plexus and primitive dieting like Paleo.
